This fantastic Bugeye has moved to Canada, and here’s the new owner in the video below, ready for his trip home. This car had an amazing ground up restoration, yet the new owner still used our resources to build a list of accessories into the car, and make it even better before departure! Each of our Bugeyes is unique, and customized to meet the needs of the new owner.

664 miles in his new AH Bugeye Sprite on the first day
Steve bought “Coleman” from us a week or so ago, and had his wife drop him off at our shop on her way to Vermont. He then drove 664 miles home, non-stop! He left Bugeyeguy at 2pm and arrived at his driveway in West Virginia at about 2AM the next day.
We’ve had several new owners make long maiden voyages in Bugeyes they purchase from us. I’ll admit I am usually a bit anxious because I’m on call in the event of a problem, but as with others before him, Stephen drove pretty much 12 straight hours without issue. He even detoured north to take the Newburgh Bridge across the Hudson, adding more miles to an already long journey.
Cars we’ve prepared have logged thousands of miles with very few issues. Each pilot like Steve helps us to gain valuable information about any vulnerabilities, and each long trip helps us to be our best. To Steve and all the other inspiring long haul Bugeye drivers, we salute you!
Supercharged Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite departs for a new home
Today it was time for “Roz” to depart for Rhode Island, and Ron chose to have the car delivered to his house by flatbed truck. The final product is stunning, with multiple performance and cosmetic upgrades. We had built the car with radial white walls and a white tonneau, and Ron, the new owner, chose to have us add custom white seats with matching green piping, white door pockets and a new custom white top. We upgraded the performance with a modern supercharger, custom exhaust and alternator kit.
Everything you see on this car is of course available if you hire us to build a Bugeye just for you. Each of the now 148 Bugeyes we have sold has been completely unique. In the video below, the new owner talks about the choices he made on his spectacular Bugeye build.
Our nicest Bugeye yet heads to a new home
Howard and Pat now have one of my favorite Bugeyes! We built this one from the ground up, and the Black with red tonneau is color-combo knock-out! The car also has anthracite wheels and matching powder coated trim. We love to tastefully customize Bugeyes! This post gives you another installment in out virtual car show, and another chance to meet one of our new Bugeye owners. Click “read more” below the video to see more pictures of this car.

Please don’t hit your Bugeye with a rock.
Meet the Scotts, who flew in to Connecticut today to pick up their new Bugeye, “Wally,” and drive the car back home to South Carolina. Here they are minutes before embarking on their big adventure!
We spent quite a bit of time getting Wally ready for this trip, and we replaced (among other things) the shocks, radius arm bushings and radiator, to ensure the Scotts would have a great ride. As with all the cars that come through our shop, sorting is always needed, and Wally got a thorough makeover. We finished the project with a custom matching tan everflex top and tonneau.
We also hid a cigarette lighter socket under the dash, and in the cockpit photo you can see the gps mounted on the glass and a second cigarette lighter socket powering the iPhone. They’re ready (and they made to to Olde Lyme that night, without incident)!
We’ll have more updates on their weeklong journey as we get them!
Their adventure is inspiring and reminds us to get out in our British cars and have some fun!
Martha checks Bugeye Sprite off her bucket list
In 48 years of marriage Mike bought what he wanted on multiple occasions, and now, Marty told me, it was her turn! A Bugeye she had in 1966 left an indelible imprint and she came from Texas to our shop this week to purchase her second Bugeye, “Kayla.” (this is our 122 Bugeye sold!)
Nothing is more fulfilling about making old British cars work than putting one in the hands of someone who is realizing a dream. Congratulations Marty!
