When Alan purchased our white Bugeye Hazel, it was somewhat routine in that we figured we would load the car in an enclosed trailer and ship it to him in the Atlanta area. Then Alan asked if just maybe he could fly in and drive the car home… with no top and no windows in FEBRUARY!
So we went into a high state of pit crew alertness and built a 30 plus point checklist of the Bugeye weak spots that we would want to examine in close detail before sending our adventurous customer out into the very cold interstate 95 corridor in a topless 55-year old car.
Here’s the first installment about this fun project in which we have about three work days to make a nice car ready for this big maiden voyage. Alan arrives by (warm) airplane on Monday. Tuesday Connecticut forecast– high of 23 with a low of 15. Trip length 947 miles.
Stay tuned!
