We are excited to offer this 1964 Triumph Spitfire Mark I (FC31915) for your consideration. The first Spitfire was produced in October of 1962 and the original run ran until December of 1964. These early Spitfires are badged as the “Spitfire 4” in reference to their 1150cc 4-cylinder engine. Both Mark I and Mark II Spitfires are badged this way; this car is a late-run Mark I based on its serial number. The next series “Spitfire 4 Mark II” began with serial number FC45753 and ran until January of 1967.

There is something about this particular example that is so simple, so elemental, so RAW that is just so attractive to me, and we think it will be for you also. There are a whole bunch of reasons why I love this car. There was a similar red Spitfire that lived on my block when I was a kid, and I would get to see it every day on my bike ride to school. I always admire any local sports car; in fact, many of the cars that were parked in my neighborhood growing-up are the same cars that I lust after today. But more importantly, this Spitfire is a very simple and elemental sports car; it represents a point in sports car history, the “golden age” if you will, before the automotive industry became encumbered and cluttered by emissions restrictions, bumper height regulations and “improved” trim.
