Don’t kill it.

We love a nice low look but go too far and the bump stops kabong the body. Too low and the ride becomes quite harsh. The original suspension design worked, providing great performance and a small degree of comfort. Sometimes, modifications have big consequences that can upset an otherwise sweet balance.

There should be more distance between the trapezoid-shaped piece of rubber and the floor of the car. This could indicate worn springs, or lowering wedges that are too aggressive. Also note the heim joint shock connecting link (shiny bit), which harshens the ride even further. The original dog bone better dampens the bumps.
This is a more proper distance you should expect to see between the bump stop and the body. It may not look like much, but this represents sufficient gap to prevent bottoming-out. Also note the original dog bones, which can also help dampen bumps.
