Car 552 (one of the first) is for sale! Check out our new video tour in the video below!
“Concours” is an often used term in the classic car world, used to define a very high-level car, which may or may not have been judged at a concours event.

There are varying levels of judged events… some regional concours include judging for roughly 15 minutes and a car with a great story can sometimes surpass a car with exceptional accuracy.

And then there is club judging, which, at the national level, is among the most difficult to master. Here, the car is judged objectively for both accuracy (was it originally built that way?) and quality (does the component look the way it did when it left the factory?) You have to excel in both ways… your car has to be accurate, but also really, really nice. That includes every nut, bolt and washer.

552 was judged for two hours by four Austin Healey Club judges and awarded gold level certification. This is the highest honor any Austin Healey can ever attain. It is a certification that the car held up to the highest level of scrutiny, microscopically inspected and scored on every detail possible.

If you want a car that looks like the day it came off the showroom floor in terms of condition and accuracy, a gold car is about as close as you can get. Call if you would like to be the next steward of this fine vehicle!
