This is AN5L 35180, a Bugeye we call Solo. This one was here in 2022 for about $20,000 in upgrades, including rear disc brakes, new Michelin XAS tires, a new wiring harness, and tons of sorting. Now, this car drives great, as this driving video can attest!
Only a few hundred miles have been put on the car since it left here in 2022, when she went to the home of a premier collector who used it little given the size of his collection. So this is a chance to enjoy a slick Bugeye with a massive investment already made.
There is a long list of improvements made… we re-bushed the Datsun five speed shift lever to make it tight again, restored the door seals to make them rattle free, installed three point retractable seat belts, completely restored the entire fuel tank, fuel pick up and fuel pump system, installed a new Pertronix electronic distributor with no points, installed new front and rear shocks and adjustable camber control arms, upgraded tapered wheel bearings, new master cylinder (premium), new stainless exhaust system, new ignition switch, new splined rear hubs for the wire wheels, heater valve, six blade fan, aluminum radiator, new battery, rebuilt carbs, rear wheel bearings, rear disc brake kit, GPS Speedo and electronic tach, alternator conversion, external LED lights throughout, power port add on for phone charging, handing gas pedal, K&N air filters, and new Everflex premium tonneau.
The cosmetics are good for a driver, not perfect, but stunning overall because it’s a winning color combination. And to drive, this car is fast and easy to drive with the Datsun five speed and fully synchronized gears. If you want a well-sorted Bugeye with lots invested, check out this one!
A tonneau and side curtains are included and fit nicely. A top is also included but it will need a little bit of help to make it fit. A new top is also an option for the new owner, should they desire!
