NOW SOLD to John Prather, THE Central Kansas Bugeyeguy! This is a Kansas car that will stay in Kansas! Congratulations on your ever growing Bugeye collection, John and thank you!
New Price! $5,495!
This is a complete car, more pictures have been added to the gallery that show the seats, top bow and cockpit trim. The car rolls, it is only on castering dollies for garage storage at its current location.
Buying this car also entitles you to something unique–unlimited tech support during the restoration. Call with for technical assistance as we are happy to help with parts from our catalog and helpful suggestions as this car is brought back to life. We can also easily arrange delivery anywhere in the USA. Since the car is in roughly the middle of America, it will cost no more than $1500 to ship it to your door, and we can set this up for you!

AN5L 46220 is a 1960 Bugeye for sale, ready for restoration. It was originally a leaf green car that was painted white at some point. You could certainly make this car run and drive and enjoy it as is (see prior post about our Burgundy Bugeye, you could make this car into something similar) or you could gut this car and completely rebuild it.
The original 948 engine is present but has not run in some time. It might run fine when you revive it, but play it safe and presume you will need to rebuild the engine (maybe you will get lucky). Same goes for the original transmission that is included, it might be fine, but you should presume a rebuild is needed. We do have running 948 engine and rebuilt original-type smoothcase transmissions if you need to go that route instead. The odometer shows about 69K miles but of course actual mileage on this 61 year-old car is unknown.

We are offering this car for a client in central Kansas, where the car is currently located. We can help you ship it anywhere in the world.

I like this car because it is largely unmolested. There was some bodywork done, presumably when the car was painted white. You can see some telltale rivets, especially on the passenger side, where the inner rocker panel was patched. There is also some filler on the outer rocker on the passenger side. There are a few riveted patches around the passenger side spring plate. This would all seem indicative of somewhat normative repairs decades ago, and none of these repairs concern me, because we have seen (and fixed) cars far worse. In fact, this car in the present condition is far superior to most of the project cars we are offered each month. So this car could be made into a driver, or completely restored… that will be up to the new owner.

This is a complete car. Seats are included and you can see the seat bases in picture #15. The seat bottoms were removed in other pictures only so you could see the floor pans under the seats, which are solid. Interior panels were discarded due to age, as was carpet and top, but all the rest of the parts are there, car is complete (top bow is also included).
Call if you are interested, we can support you with tech tips and parts as you get this car on the road. Title is clear and we are happy to help!

Available for $5,495. Pick up in Central Kansas. Let’s get another one on the road!
