Here’s a chance to purchase a 1275-powered and disk brake-equipped Bugeye at a great price! If you don’t mind some cosmetic imperfections, here’s a 1275 powered car with a great driveline at a very reasonable price!

This is “Doobie,” a 1960 Bugeye driver with a strong engine and excellent four-speed rib case transmission. The exhaust is unique… instead of an inline (standard) muffler, this one is a sideways chamber with four tips. It works just fine and sounds nice (just not original).
Mag wheels are period aftermarket, wearing 155/70 tires. Wheel offset is a bit wider than stock, which gives the car a slightly more aggressive stance. 45,825 miles are showing on the clock but actual mileage is unknown.
The paint is nice, it’s an inexpensive respray that looks just fine, in a deep red that is a good match for the original cherry red/burgundy stock Bugeye color.
Seats are from a later Spridget, and while not correct, they are a bit more comfortable since they are thicker, and the rake on these is also adjustable.
Overall, this is a nice driver that needs detailing and cleaning-up, perfect for anyone looking to tinker with a car that still drives nicely.
The floors are in need of replacement. A few minor mechanical issues need addressing, such as the turn signals are not operating, the fuel sender gasket is leaking and the gauge is reading empty (sunk float?), the horn, wipers and speedo are also not working. The front end is a bit high, and we have a lowering kit for that. The steering wheel is not straight but the car tracks straight and doesn’t pull, we just need to move the wheel a few teeth on the splines. The powertrain is nice so the car is great to drive.
Hire us if you like, and we can address the punch list, this is the sort of think we do everyday… we haven’t dug into so we could keep the price low… or you can tinker on your own!
