Now SOLD to Rick in Georgia! Congratulations! Our 292nd!
This is “Creamsicle” – a nice driver for anyone looking to get into Bugeyes without putting up a lot of dough. It’s a special car that belonged to the same very passionate Bugeye fan for the past 46 or so years. He was a career auto technician and he loved his Bugeye!

The paint is 1974 Barracuda Orange Crush with Chrysler White, both of which were reclaimed surplus from bodyshop buddies in 1974. There wasn’t enough orange to finish the job, but sufficient white was available for the wings.

The owner of this car wore those colors and that story as a badge of honor for the next 46 years. Who didn’t scrape-by to fuel their passion for sports cars in the 70s? We all did what we could with what we had back then (that’s why I drove Gumby for a decade with the crazy teal metallic seats that came with the car when I bought it in 1978).

The car has a few unusual features as you might expect from a guy who “made it his own” after so many decades of ownership. For example, this is perhaps the only Bugeye in America with a hurst short shifter (it’s actually a cut down stock rib case lever with a hurst shift knob, easy to change if you want the stock type).

He’s also got ambitious 205/60R13 tires installed, which are a lot of grip for a little Sprite, mounted on wide 13 inch mag wheels. And he has fit an original 58 nine-stud Bugeye windshield, which looks cool!

The side-draft Weber, header and large bore exhaust works quite well on this 948 engine, he’s got that right, as the run quality is quite good.

Front disks are also installed, and brakes are great, especially with the wide tires and the grip they provide.
Two key-actuated locks engage the flip-forward nose. These engage locks that are mounted on the original bonnet hinges. This is a novel way to secure your bonnet that also adds some security.

The bodywork is quite solid on this car. Nose, rockers, a-pillars and fender bottoms are all excellent. There is rust in the driver footwell floor pan and on the passenger side floor under the seat. I bet Jack was driving around and enjoying his Bugeye without any regrets, in spite of this floor rust. However, if you want it fixed, we can cut out and weld-in new floor pans for you, as needed.
In total, this is a great car to enjoy as is or restore to your specifications. Call or email if you would like to make this car your own!
